Rules and Regulations
The league is for exercise and fun. Players who continually argue about calls by the referees may at the discretion of the Board of Directors be asked to leave. Unsportsmanlike conduct, swinging at another player, etc. will also result in ejection from the league.
If a player receives two technical fouls in one game he will be ejected from that game and will sit out the next scheduled game. There is no appeal of this rule In addition, if a player receives two technical fouls in a second league game within a season he will be ejected from the league. Reinstatement will not be considered.
Changed from last year! If you have only five players and one fouls out you will play with four players. You can still play until you only have one player left on the court.
Full court pressing and Man-to-Man defense will be allowed in the last five minutes of each half only. A zone defense must be played the rest of the time. The team in the lead must shoot within 30 seconds from the time they receive the ball inbounds. No stalling will be allowed. A deliberate foul will be awarded with two free throws and the fouled player's team will receive the ball after the free throws.
Players must not wear outside shoes on the playing surface. We ask that you bring your sneakers and change into them at the gym. The snow, water, and dirt will destroy the floor very quickly.
A team may start a game with four players on the floor. If the fifth player does not arrive by the ten minute mark of the first half, that team will forfeit the game.
If a team has ten players present, everyone must play half or close to half of the game. It is understood that some players may wish to play less. If you have six to nine players, no one can play the entire game. Each person must sit out for at least ten minutes.
For games scheduled Monday through Friday, we will follow the school schedule. If school is canceled due to snow or some other reason, that evening's games will be canceled. Every effort will be made to make up canceled games. For games scheduled on Sundays, the board will inform the captains in a timely manner if the games are to be canceled.
There will be a double elimination playoff at the end of the season with all teams participating.
